LAWMAKER IN ABIA STATE, CHIEF ERONDU JR, CLEARED JAMB FEES FOR 120 SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAVERS OF HIS CONSTITUENCY



The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service, Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr has paid the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) 2024 examination for 120 indigent students.


Speaking with newsmen shortly after the enrollment exercise in Comprehensive Secondary School, Osusu Amaukwa, Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA) Abia state recently, the founder, Igodo Igwe Foundation, reiterated his commitment towards Human Capital Development to his constituents and beyond.


The former chairman, Obingwa LGA, noted that there are many brilliant students in Obingwa-West State constituency and Abia state with great potentials for the state and the country at large, whose parents cannot afford the JAMB registration fee while some lacked proper mentorship on which course of study and institution to apply, hence, the need for the exercise.



The lawmaker, representing Obingwa-West State constituency in ABHA also reiterated his readiness to use everything at his disposal to attract dividends of democracy to his people.


The Uhie-born legislator further charged beneficiaries of this benevolence, to take their studies seriously to ensure they perform excellently in their chosen academic career.


In her response, one of the elated beneficiaries, Miss Enyioma Gift, from Mgboko Umuanunu, thanked the lawmaker for the magnanimity, adding that she has already given up hope on the registration of 2024 JAMB due to her family’s difficult financial situation until help came through Erondu Jnr.


In her words: “I feel so happy and grateful because I wasn’t even planning on writing JAMB now because of the financial burden but seeing this rare opportunity, I decided to write the exam to further my academic career”.


Miss Enyioma who prayed God to bless the founder, Igodo Igwe Foundation, also promised to take her studies seriously.


Meanwhile, Mr. Nwandiko Victor Uchechukwu, the father, of one of the beneficiaries; Miss Chioma Rejoice Uchechukwu from Osaa Okea, Ahiaba Ward Five, said that he’s happy as a huge financial burden has been taken off their shoulders.


He thanked Erondu Jnr for being a blessing to parents especially in this difficult times, urging other beneficiaries to make the best of this opportunity from the lawmaker.



Mr. Uchechukwu who described university education as key to community development, prayed God to continuously bless Erondu Jnr in all his endeavours.


Igodo Igwe Foundation free JAMB registration is annual educational exercise, funded by Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr to assist indigent students within his constituency, Abia state and beyond.

 The Federal Government has announced the indefinite suspension of the N-Power program. Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, made the announcement while featuring on a TVC news program on Saturday. She said the decision was birthed by some irregularities within the scheme, noting that the government has launched investigation into the utilization of funds since the program began. The Minister claimed that some of the beneficiaries are not found in their place of assignments yet they expect monthly stipends. According to her, some of the beneficiaries ought to have exited the program since 2022 but are still on the payroll.
