By Sir Don Ubani; KSC, JP,

9th May, 2018.
The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State; Sir Johnson Onuigbo, has assured the Members of the Party in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the Party's commitment to Equity, Justice and Fairness.
Sir Onuigbo gave the assurance yesterday at the Council headquarters of Isuikwuato where he had led Members of the State Executive Committee of the Party on a tour of the area.
At the Council headquarters, in their different speeches, stakeholders of Isuikwuato had pledged their support to the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and the leadership of PDP in the State.
Such stakeholders as the Council Chairman; Chief Nnamdi Udeze, the Chairman of the Party in the area; Mr Chinedu Igboko, the Member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly; Sir John Ogele, Barr Mrs Loveth Ofoegbu, Ada Jesus, Barr Emeka Ikwuagwu and many others had something common in their speech. Each emphasized the urgency of the application of equity in who would represent the people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives in 2019.
Separately, each speaker reminded the State Chairman of the Party that an indigene of Umunneochi has been in the Federal House consecutively for close to twelve years and strongly demanded that, by the spirit of equity and zoning, which PDP is known for, the position should revert to Isuikwuato.
The case made by the stakeholders of PDP in Isuikwuato was, in every sense, akin to the one earlier made by the good people of Asa when the Party visited Ukwa-West on a similar tour.
The people of Asa had unanimously and unequivocally demanded for justice from the leadership of the Party in the State, in respect of representation in the House of Representatives. They had expressed feelings of marginalization and total discomfort in being shot out of national representation for twelve consecutive years. They had, therefore, vehemently demanded that PDP needs to observe the principal of rotation of the Seat of Ukwa-East/Ukwa-West House of Representatives by zoning it to Ukwa-West, which is Asa, as the present occupant, who has been there since 2007, is from Ukwa-East, which is Ndoki.
Highlight of the occasion was the adoption of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as the Sole Candidate of the People of Isuikwuato for 2019 governorship election.
The Motion for adoption was moved by Sir John Ogele and seconded by the Woman Leader of PDP in the Area; Ugoeze Ngozi Osuoha. When the motion was put to question by a former Member of Abia State House of Assembly from the area; Hon Monday Ejiegbu, the affirmation was deafeningly unanimous.
Some notable politicians of Isuikwuato who graced the occasion included; Hon Obinna Ekekwe, a former Commissioner in the State; Dr Henry Agbaeze, a former Military Administrator of Cross River State; Navy Capt Osondu(rtd), Chief Mrs Dioma Duruoha, a former Chairman of defunct Universal Basic Education Board in the State; Chief Emma Ibegbulem and many others.
